The departments, institutions, and centers listed below provide a variety of educational services related to East Asia, from formal education to Columbia University students to—often publicly accessible—talks, seminars, and symposia.

• Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (EALAC)  Recognized as an international leader in the study of the histories, literatures, cultures, religions, and languages of East Asia.
• Weatherhead East Asian Institute  A hub for the study of modern and contemporary East, Inner, and Southeast Asia at Columbia University. 
• Asian & Middle Eastern Cultures (Barnard)  The primary aim of the Department is to introduce major Asian and Middle Eastern Civilizations and their works and values as a means of expanding knowledge of the varieties and unities of the human experience. 

• The Donald Keene Center of Japanese Culture  Provides free programs dedicated to introducing Japanese culture, in all its depth and diversity, to new audiences.
• IMJS: Japanese Cultural Heritage Initiatives  An international liaison and research center designed primarily to serve European and American scholars in all disciplines whose main area of study focuses on pre-modern Japan.
• The Center for Korean Research  Provides support for Korea-related research, teaching, and programming across Departments, Centers, and Institutes at Columbia University.
• American Institute of Buddhist Studies  Has a mandate to translate and publish the originally Indian Buddhist artistic, scientific, and religious works collected in the Tibetan Tengyur (bstan 'gyur).
• APEC Study Center  Is engaged in the study of business, economics, development, health, political science, security, law, and other matters that impact the Asia-Pacific region.
• Center on Japanese Economy and Business  Guiding students to solve the increasingly complex challenges of the modern business era with a cutting-edge curriculum, groundbreaking research, commitment to an inclusive and representative community, and real-time connection to industry and practice.
• Hong Yen Chan Center for Chinese Legal Studies (Columbia Law School)  Prepares students to take on leadership roles in Chinese law, and provides them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in China's rapidly changing legal environment.
• Center for Japanese Legal Studies (Columbia Law School)  The first and only center focused on Japanese law in the United States.
• Center for Korean Legal Studies (Columbia Law School)  A national focal point for research, scholarship, and exchange on Korean law and legal institutions. 
• Center on Chinese Education (Teachers College)  Aimes at contributing to a better understanding of education in China and to educational exchange between the United States and China. 

• Asia for Educators (AFE)  Designed to serve faculty and students in world history, culture, geography, art, and literature at the undergraduate and pre-college levels.

ABROAD:

• Columbia Global Centers, East Asia, Beijing  Serves as an important regional hub for the Columbia community in East Asia, facilitating and promoting academic exchange, research, and scholarship programs in the region.

• Asia Society  The purpose is to navigate shared futures for Asia and the world across policy, arts and culture, education, sustainability, business, and technology.
• China Institute  Dedicated to deepening the world’s understanding of China through programs in business, art, culture, cuisine, and education.
• Japan Society  The premier organization connecting Japanese arts, culture, business, and society with audiences in New York and around the world.
• Korea Society  Dedicated solely to the promotion of greater awareness, understanding, and cooperation between the people of the United States and Korea.
• Tibet House  Dedicated to preserving Tibet’s unique culture at a time when it is confronted with extinction on its own soil.
• The Latse Project  Committed to the exchange of knowledge and ideas, the promotion of Tibetan language use and literacy, and the sharing of resources and research in service of Tibetan and Tibetan Studies communities.
• Metropolitan Museum of Art—Asian Art Department  Represents the artistic achievements of six major cultural traditions that encompass 5,000 years of history, half the world's population, more than twenty modern nations. 
• Rubin Museum of Art  A dynamic environment that stimulates learning, promotes understanding, and inspires personal connections to the ideas, cultures, and art of Himalayan regions.
